Kerala Special Idi Chakka Sambar | Varutharacha Idi Chakka Sambar | Special Sambar
Ingredients:-
- Raw Jack fruit – Small
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Green Chilli - 2
- Dal – ¼ Cup
- Turmeric Powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Chilli Powder – 2 Teaspoon
- Sambar Masala
- Tamarind- A lemon size
- Jaggery – A small piece
- Mustard Seeds
- Dry red chili – 2
- Curry leaves
- Oil
- Salt
- For frying coconut
- Coconut – ½ Cup
- Shallot – 10
- Garlic – 10
- Curry Leaves
- Fenugreek – ¼ Teaspoon
- Pepper Corns- ¼ Teaspoon
- Cumin Seeds – ¼ Teaspoon
- Coriander Powder – 2 ½ Teaspoon
- Asafoetida – ¼ Teaspoon
Preparation:-
- Pressure cook dal, raw jackfruit, onion, tomato, green chilli with turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and water
- Add oil into a pan and add coconut, shallot, curry leaves, pepper and fry
- Once it start to change the colour add fenugreek and fry
- Add cumin seeds
- Add coriander powder and switch off the stove and add asafoetida
- Grind the fried coconut
- Add it into cooked jack fruit
- Once it start boiling add tamarind water and boil
- Add sambar powder
- Add jaggery
- Add curry leaves and coriander leaves
- Splutter mustard and dry red chilli and add it into sambar
- Tasty Idichakka Sambar is ready to serve
